VIENNA, Austria - Experts say an Austrian man accused of imprisoning his daughter for 24 years and fathering her seven children is mentally fit to stand trial.

Authorities say a court-ordered psychiatric evaluation of 73-year-old Josef Fritzl shows he is lucid enough to be tried, even though it says he suffers from a "profound personality disorder."
Police say Fritzl has confessed to holding his daughter captive in a warren of windowless rooms he built beneath his home in Amstetten, west of Vienna.
Investigators say DNA tests show that Fritzl was the father of the six surviving children. They say he told police he tossed the body of a seventh into a furnace after it died in infancy.
Prosecutors released the mental evaluation Wednesday.
