Illinois State University Welcomes Soldiers Home from Service in Iraq and Afghanistan

WHAT: Three Illinois State University Army ROTC Cadets and a local Reserve Soldier will receive a hero's welcome home during Saturday's football game versus Missouri State University. These Soldiers have returned to the community after serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom and will be recognized on-field during a half-time ceremony. The recognition ceremony is part of the Army's Operation Tribute to Freedom program which honors returning Soldiers for their service.
Soldiers are available for interviews before and after the game.
WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 4
Recognition activities will take place during half-time. Game kick-off is at 1:30 p.m. CST.
WHERE: Hancock Stadium, Normal, Ill.
WHO:
Cadet Kathrine Vasseur served in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 379th Chemical Company. She is a sophomore, majoring in anthropology.
Cadet Scott Willey served in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 5th Air Defense Artillery. He is a freshman, majoring in exercise science.
Sergeant Jonathon Jobson served in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 419th Transportation Battalion. He is currently a public affairs specialist with the 416th Theater Engineer Command of the Army Reserves.
