U.S. Labor Secretary Elaine L. Chao will host the annual Salute to Veterans ceremony at the Department of Labor's headquarters Thursday.

Secretary Chao will be joined by Gordon Mansfield, deputy secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs; Charles S. "Chick" Ciccolella, assistant secretary of labor for the Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS); and Maj. Gen. Dave Wherley, commanding general of the District of Columbia National Guard.

In addition, there will be special guest performances by the D.C. National Guard's 257th Army Band and the Maryland Center for Veterans Education and Training's (MCVET) Message of Hope Choir. MCVET is a Baltimore-based private organization that provides support to homeless veterans and is a grantee of VETS' Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program.
