Los Angeles Area Health Care Company Owner Pleads Guilty to Medical Identity Theft and Medicare Fraud
A La Crescenta man pleaded guilty today to federal criminal charges of defrauding Medicare by using patients' Medicare identification numbers without their knowledge, Acting Assistant Attorney General of the Criminal Division Matthew Friedrich and U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California Thomas P. O'Brien announced. Between August 2003 and April 2008, Melkon Gabriyelyan, 51, billed the Medicare program for more than $1,640,000. Read more

Fall Firearms Deer Seasons Making A Difference; Warm-Weather Venison Care
The state's early firearms antlerless deer seasons - early muzzleloader season, Oct. 18-25, and special firearms season for junior, senior, active duty military and certain disabled hunters, Oct. 23-25 - will start up this weekend, along with seasons for squirrels and grouse, so there will be plenty of activity in the state's forested areas for the next week, according to the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
